New domain registration rules approved The China Internet Information Center (CNNIC) announced that the new regulations for domain name registration have gained approval from the Ministry of Information Industry, reports Chinanetnews. The new regulations will be implemented by the end of this year. All the previous regulations on domain name registration will be abolished on the date of the announcement of the new regulations except for the rule that "a domain name that will impose harm to the state, society and public interest will not be allowed to register" will be kept, CNNIC stated. The new regulations will Simplify the registration process to enhance the online registration efficiency; Allow the owner of the domain name to transfer its domain name to others; Reduce the charges for domain name registration; and Remove the restriction on individual registration of domain names.
