Establishing company in Shanghai Free Trade Zone
Shanghai Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone established in June 1990 was the first comprehensive and multifunctional free trade zone approved by China's State Council. It enjoys the most preferential policies granted by China's government. Wiagaoqiao Free Trade Zone is located at northeast of Pudong New Area, adjacent to the mouth of Yangtze River , about 20 km (12.5 miles) away from the city center of Shanghai. Taking the advantages of geographical location and the convenient transportation, it becomes the biggest comprehensive and multifunctional free trade zone in China
Location
Shanghai Wai Gaoqiao FTZ is the forefront of Pudong New
Area. It lies at the intersection of the golden waterway
and the golden coastlin, facing good deep water line with
back leaning against the rich Yangtze River Delta.
Geographical conditions
The FTZ locates at the alluvials plains of Yangtze River Delta, with altitude 4 to 5 meters and average tide 3.25 meters. The depth of the plain is 320 meters. Its layer with the 4th century sticky earth and sand mutually belongs to depositing with each other, which is prone to frequent earthquakes. This zone belongs to tropical windy weather of sea of north subtropical zone, with clearly cut four seasons and the whole year being moist and moderate. In summer, Southeast wind is popular and in winter, northwest wind. The average temperature all year round is around 16¡æ, with the lowest 3¡æ minus, the highest temperature is in July and August, which is about 28¡æ.There are 140 rainy days, which chiefly concentrate from May to August, with annual rainfall of 15 mm, and the no-frost period is about 280 days.
Harbour
Wai Gaoqiao Harbor links Yangtze River deep waterline with Waigaoqiao FTZ. It's 7 km away from Wusong Harbor in the west, and 85 km away from Yangtze River estuary. The first phase project (900 meters along the wharf, with input and output capacity of 1.2 million TEU and three containing berths), second phase project (899 meters along the wharf, with input and output capacity 0.8 million TEU, two containing berths of the second and fourth generation and one 1st generation containing berth) have already been constructed. Another second phase project (680 meters along the wharf, with input and output capacity of 0.5 TEU in the short term and 0.6 TEU for the long term, two 3rd and 4th generation containing berths) and the 4th phase project (4.6 km long of the whole project line, planning to develop 1250 meters for the 1st phase, with 1 million TEU annual containing capacity, and to build 4 third and 4 fourth generation containing berths), are in blueprint. Waigaoqiao Harbor, being the compenent of Shanghai International Navigation Center, has become the key pivotal point of the FTZ in the light of International trade, bonded warehousing and logistic distribution.
